What RugWard Pay is#

RugWard Pay is a non-custodial crypto payment gateway. You create an invoice in US dollars, your buyer picks a coin on a hosted checkout page, and the payment goes directly from the buyer's wallet to your own wallet. RugWard reads public blockchain data to tell you (and your server) when the payment has arrived and is confirmed.

RugWard never receives, holds, converts or forwards your money. There is no RugWard balance, no withdrawal and nothing RugWard could freeze. The flip side: RugWard also cannot reverse, refund or recover a payment. Refunds and disputes are between you and your buyer.

How a payment works#

  1. You sign in to the merchant dashboard with your wallet (a free signature, no transaction) and save your receiving addresses. See Merchant setup.
  2. You create an invoice in USD, in the dashboard or with the API. You get a checkout link: https://rugward.com/pay/i/<invoice id>.
  3. The buyer opens the link and picks a coin. RugWard locks the exchange rate for 30 minutes and shows the exact amount, your address and a QR code.
  4. The buyer pays from their own wallet. RugWard watches the chain, shows the payment as soon as it is seen, and marks the invoice paid after the required confirmations.
  5. Your dashboard updates, and your server gets a signed webhook (invoice.paid). Ship only after that.

Supported coins and networks#

The buyer can pay with any coin you enable in Settings. Token contracts are fixed by RugWard (never taken from a request), so a buyer can never be shown a fake token.

The asset id is what the API and webhooks use (for example "asset": "USDC-8453").

RugWard Pay does not accept Litecoin (LTC) or other coins that are not in this table. A buyer who holds another coin can first swap it into an accepted coin in their own wallet with RugWard Swap or the BTC & XMR swap, then pay the exact amount.

  • Not a bank, escrow, exchange or payment processor, and not a party to your sale.
  • Not a custodian: it never touches the money, so it cannot refund, chargeback or recover funds.
  • Not for illegal goods or services: see the merchant terms. Users are responsible for complying with their local laws.

RugWard Pay is internally reviewed by RugWard (our own review, not an independent one).
