Use a new subaddress for each payer

Subaddresses tell you what you are being paid for and stop one payer from linking your payments together.

Use subaddresses by default

Monero's documentation recommends subaddresses as the default way to receive. Give a different subaddress for each expected payment and you will know what each payment is for.

Stop payers linking you

A new subaddress for every payout stops a service that pays you from easily seeing it is you again. It does not help if you have an account with that service, because the service already links your payouts in its own database. For complete separation, use a separate wallet (seed).

One seed for everything

All subaddresses come from your one wallet seed, so there is only one backup to protect. Labels are not restored from the seed, so note them separately if you need them.

Do not merge them in one transaction

Sweeping the balances of several subaddresses in a single transaction links them together on the blockchain. If you need to combine funds privately, move them one subaddress per transaction.
