Prove a payment without giving up your keys
In a dispute you can prove one payment with a transaction proof or tx key. Nothing else about your wallet is revealed.

Why it is different from Bitcoin
On Bitcoin a transaction id shows the addresses and the amount. On Monero that information is not public, so the sender has to provide proof.
With the tx key
The sender gives the transaction id, the recipient's address and the transaction's one-time key. In the CLI the key comes from get_tx_key (the wallet must have store-tx-info on); in the GUI it is in the transaction details. The checker runs check_tx_key and sees how much that transaction sent to that address.
get_tx_key TXID check_tx_key TXID TXKEY ADDRESS
With a transaction proof
get_tx_proof creates a signed proof for one address and an optional message, without revealing the tx key, and saves it to a file named monero_tx_proof. The checker passes that file to check_tx_proof. In the GUI both are under Advanced > Prove/check.
get_tx_proof TXID ADDRESS [MESSAGE] check_tx_proof TXID ADDRESS monero_tx_proof [MESSAGE]
Check the address
A proof only shows that money went to an address. The checker should still confirm with the recipient that the address really is theirs.

RugWard can turn a proof into a link that anyone can open to see the verified amount and live confirmations. The tx key, if you use one, is used once and never stored.
